BRUCE SHUMWAY'S GUIDE SERVICE

Bruce has been a professional fishing guide since 1978 in the Hayward/Cable area of NW Wisconsin.  During this time, Bruce and his clients have had many record catches - muskies to 53 inches, and up to 41 pounds, as well as pike to 23 pounds, which have led to his reputation as one of the top "big fish" guides in Wisconsin.

By specializing in Musky fishing on a variety of lakes, all good musky waters in Bayfield and Sawyer counties, Bruce can "stay on the fish" throughout the season.  If you let him know in advance what you are looking for, such as your first legal, "action" or a trophy, he can better choose a suitable lake for that day's musky hunt.

Our Guide Service can also help arrange lodging in the area and will line up additional top quality guides for larger parties or business groups.  If you or your group have special needs, just let us know ahead of time and we will do our best to help.  Our goal is for you to have a great north woods day on the water.  Bruce Shumway's Guide Service supports "Catch and Release".

WHEN TO COME

Memorial Day Weekend (opening day) through October 15 - This time period is the most popular and productive for musky fishing for both the beginner and the "old pro" - during this time of the year, muskies and northern pike can be caught on a wide variety of lures.  Bruce and his guests have taken many trophy musky during this period.  It is also a great time for "action" with numbers of fish.

October 15 through November 30 -  This late season is strictly for the trophy hunter.  Action is sacrificed in the search for big, heavy, record muskies.  Bruce is recognized as a pioneer in late fall fishing.  Special techniques such as vertical jigging, motor trolling and live bait fishing are used at this time.

RATES:

• $ 350.00  for full day - 8 hours on the water
• $ 220.00  for half-day - 4 hours on the water
• Rates based on two persons

Bruce's Guide Service includes: (for 1 or 2 people maximum)

• 8 hour day on the water
• Safe, stable and comfortable pro fishing boat (includes gas and bait)
• Rods, reels and lures (or bring your own if you have musky tackle)

You should bring:

• Valid Wisconsin fishing license
• Lunch for you and your guide (or lunch may be purchased at a lake restaurant)
• Camera and rain gear
• Warm clothing/hat/sunglasses as needed
• A positive musky attitude!
